In Aurangabad, an architecture similar to the Taj Mahal is located and it’s the name -Bibi Ka Maqbara or Bibi’s tomb. It is traditionally known as “Lady of the Tomb”. It was built by Azam Shah in 1668AD. He built this majestic memorial in memory of his mother Dilras Banu Begum.
Bibi Ka Maqbara was designed by renowned architect Ataullah. It is also a symbol of love like the Taj Mahal. There is only a slight distinction that Bibi’s Tomb stands for the son’s love for his mother, while the Taj Mahal is for the husband’s love for his wife. We can say that they are similar in many ways yet different in magnitude and time. These two excellent monuments immortalize these two women in the lessons of history. History of Bibi’s tomb
Bibi Ka Maqbara is built in memory of Dilras Banu as I mentioned above. And many of you want to know more about her. So I will share with you a short story of Dilras Banu. She is born into the Iranian royal family. His father’s name was Shahnawaz Khan. He was the Viceroy of the state of Gujarat. In 1637, she married the Mughal emperor Aurangzeb and became his first wife.
On the birth of the fifth child, Dilras Banu dies. His elder son was named Azam Shah, and he was truly sad to learn that his mother was no more. Aurangzeb was unable to bear this heartfelt news. Some reports claimed that both father and son took a few months to overcome this harsh incident and it took too long to return to normal. The point he recovered from this event. He was ordered to build a memorial in memory of his mother like the Taj Mahal, which was built by Shah Jahan. The cause of death of both women is the same and both become immortal.
Bibi Ka Maqbara Architecture
Bibi Ka Maqbara is as beautiful as the Taj Mahal. The Charbagh garden pattern is very famous during the Mughal period. So the tomb garden has streams passing through the Charbagh garden. The center of the mausoleum is adorned with a Charbagh style garden.
The white marbled walls are carved with beautiful floral designs. The tomb passage is covered with green trees. There is a water tank with octagonal shaped pools and 61 fountains and reservoirs at the center of the route are 488 feet long and 96 feet wide. The built mausoleum was imported from Jaipur.
